Downhill to reality || Kaitlyn&Frederick ||Modern Verse||

to-dream-the-answers:

          It felt as if the view in front of him was giving him an incredible headache, but when he pressed an open palm to the place where the pain was the harshest, he felt warm liquid coating his hand. With panicked eyes he withdrew the hand out of his hair, only to take it right in front of him, freezing for a moment when there was not even a dry and clean spot on his palm – everything was coated in blood.

          Fighting against the sudden exhaustion, detective pushed himself past the stream of people trying to get out, only one thing he was focusing about – Emily. What had happened to her? And hell, from where she got that insane strength? He can’t remember her hitting anyone hard enough to create a bruise and now all it took for her was to push him and next thing he knew he was lying in a debris of broken table.  It felt like he was in a bizarre, and a very fucked up version of some horror story with a ghost, or demon of some sorts, embodying his sister. Was this figure his sister? It talked something about a meat suit, right? Could it be something to do with exorcism? If this was a fucking dream, he swears to God he will stop watching horror movies before going to sleep.

           That was the moment when he saw the girl he had a small talk with over at the bar approaching his sister as well. But there was no fear in her eyes, at least not as much as in other people who were panicking the shit out of themselves. She even had determination and some sense of coldness towards the situation about herself.

                                                     Who was she?

{ ♔ } - - - - -     Kaitlyn walked towards the woman as she pointed the gun at her. “Who are you?” she repeated, fearing that she was about to lose it. Interviewing a demon in front of the whole bar was not really good especially after the whole scene but she really had choice; time was running out and the police would be here soon, thanks to the bartender.

Skipping over a broken chair, the hunter repeated the question but to no avail. She received no answer but a deadly glare instead. And that was when she saw the man approaching the demon as well. What in the world was his connection with this creature? Was he a demon too? But another look at him and she remembered that he looked kind of surprised by the ‘meat suit’ sentence earlier so that cleared out the possibility of the man being a demon. She returned her gaze at the woman.

“I don’t have time for your silly games so speak now or I’ll be the last thing you’ll see.” she threatened this time, placing a finger on the trigger. The woman instead gave a smirk, her black orbs filled with evil. “Too late.” it replied.

Being greatly exasperated with the reply, she shot but again, the woman was fast, too fast. It escaped, the bullet hitting the wall, out of the brunette’s reach as it crashed through door and disappeared into the night. Kaitlyn went after it but upon reaching the door, she was gone.

The hunter let out a groan. She walked back inside and that was when she spotted the man she had a small talk with earlier. Her hopes soared as she began to walk towards him this time. “You? Do you know the woman?” she asked. Then upon hearing the distant sound of a police car’ siren, she pointed the gun at him. “Don’t try to run, I don’t have much time and I need your help.”
