The way Anthony looked at it, Kaitlyn was right. Of course, it was only right to consider that her logic was true despite how bad it made him feel.
All those chances he wasted and all those opportunities he ignored, he now felt empty and troubled. What kind of creature was he? To make his daughter suffer this way and feel this way? What father makes a fake story about his wife’s death? What hunter kept all these from his most beloved one?
Then the hunter remembered why: He had half a demon inside him. Nephilim. The word meant him. The first and the one saved by a seraph.
“None of my business.” he repeated his daughter’s words under his breathe as he bowed his head in shame. She was right. And after all these, who was he to deny her after this afternoon? After all his lies?
Anthony let a sigh slip from his lips as he stared at her with mixed emotions. He hated seeing her cry though.
“I will.” he finally said after a small debate ensued inside his mind. Approaching her, he placed a hand on her shoulder then gave her a pat, a father’s gesture to show his love for a daughter. For now, that was enough.
“I’m sorry.”

Her own words echoed in her mind and she saw truth in it now. She just savoured the rest of the day, knowing it’d be her last to live the usual lackadaisical and care-free life. Starting tomorrow, everything would be different; she’d be different.

How many years have passed since that day?
What am I thinking?
The brunette pushed away all her thoughts as she pressed the trigger and fired several times, each time hitting the mannequins with perfect aim. At this, a smirk curled on her lips.
She approached the table and placed the gun down as she faced the man leaning against the far wall. “So, comments? Objections? Improvements? Critic’s review?” she asked with a playful smirk, wiping her sweat with a towel.
