‘Living’ Lightly | curiositykills-thecat

delicate–strings:

Yes, the right day - the day where you actually leave during the day,“ Eira clarified for her. ”No, it was merely a bonus. I just wanted to see you.“ Standing simply where she was she watched while Kait wandered around to observe things in the light. Perhaps it was her personal preference, because she loved the sun for the plants it produced and so she endeavored to make sure she saw the world in as much of its light as possible. She acknowledged though that not everyone was like her, even before she died she knew that.

Upon hearing Kait’s explanation for that she nodded, understanding where she was coming from now that she heard the answer. In her own particular way, Eira offered her advice. “The sun does have the power to burn, but flowers can’t grow without sunlight so they turn to it and pray it doesn’t get so hot they burn. If you make the sun your enemy because the darkness keeps things cold, I’d imagine it’d be hard to grow.

{ ♔ } - - - - -     "Not regretting the decision anyway. But had you not showed up, I’d probably be sulking back inside.” she said with a chuckle. “Well, you made my day by doing that, thank you very much.” she told her, skipping over a small pile of dead leaves. “You’re a sunny person aren’t you? Even after death? I used to be one too. Then I died and just lost appreciation of almost everything around me.” the words came out of her mouth as she wistfully said them.

After hearing Eira’s words, Kaitlyn looked at her and gave a small smile. “You’re really wiser than you look. And perhaps that’s one of the reasons why I wasn’t really able to move on. But I have to admit, I miss it; the sun’s rays kissing my skin with the plants and grasses around me. But here, everything’s just … dead. Bloody boring. Even if I learn to love the sun again, it’d be incomplete with these dead trees around. And I’d love to have that sunny feeling again. Yeah, I know, I’m a complicated spirit.” she chuckled.
