The blonde ran, fastening her speed as she led Kaitlyn out of the werewolf’s sight. Of all the people in the village, why did they have to be the target? This was the reason why she moved out of the place and into her grandmother’s home. For a moment, Valerie looked back but only to see the wolf still behind them, finishing anybody who went in its way without any second thought. It was a massacre, a bloody one and she knew that these was more worse than the last one. With no guards around and the creature after them, she felt hopeless.
But she carried on, dragging the brunette towards the holy grounds when the werewolf suddenly blocked their path. Damn it! It was the only safe place in the village and now their only way in was blocked by the creature. Valerie swore under her breathe before running towards a tall structure with Kaitlyn.
She hoped that maybe the werewolf would change its target and give them time to hide. And when they reached the structure, she pushed her friend towards the stairs and followed her. “I’m right behind you.” she reassured her, looking behind to see that the wolf was no longer behind them. Valerie let out a sigh or relief.

When Kaitlyn looked ahead, she caught the church inside fences with villagers cowering within the land as a priest helped people inside. And it hit her; that was where they were going, holy land. Of course, it all made sense. She began to run faster towards the structure when the wolf suddenly closed their way towards the church. The brunette despaired, when Valerie suddenly pulled her again.
This time, it was towards a tall structure. It was not much but it was enough to help them stay undercover for a while. She did as Valerie instructed before finally reaching the top where bales of hay lied around. Kaitlyn sat on one of them as she covered her face with her hands. The pressure, fear, everything, was too much for her. The young lady’s breathe hitched as tears flowed down her face. “God, Valerie. What did I get myself into?” she asked in a panicked voice.
