Dealing with demons || Kait & Mel

hiddenintheshadowss:

Mel was having the easiest week ever. She had not received any calls for hits so she was just going down to the bar every night to work. It wasn’t a difficult job, not at all it was just serving a few drinks and snacks if asked. Making the snacks was not her job so even better to her point of view. Her customers were mostly people from the area, that lived there and just wanted to relax after a days work so the vibe in the bar was quite calm and almost home like.

This one particular night, the bar was pretty empty. Mel was bored out of her mind and a woman sat in the balcony after a while. She figured she would be a good conversation partner as any, since being a barmaid often came with the appendix of being a shrink too. - Hey there, what are you gonna get sweetheart?

{ ♔ } - - - - -     If Kaitlyn had to go to the bar, it was only for one reason: to cool her head off. Lately, things had been chaotic with demons crashing in during the most unexpected times in the unlikeliest places but she was not complaining and she dared not to. The job came with consequences she had to learn to live with as it was a package deal. Life was not fair after all. Coming to the place, she had hoped to find time for herself and perhaps have the occasional chat with someone within the place; having everything normal and casual, even just for one night, was nice once in a while.

Sitting on the balcony with a cool breeze passing by once in a while, the night was nearly perfect. The huntress ran a hand down her hair as she let out a sigh. Nearly perfect the night was had it not been deathly boring with everything in the bar quiet that the silence was deafening. And that was when she sensed someone nearing her. Kaitlyn looked behind her only to see a barmaid walking towards her. “Nah, just came to chill. Trying to stay sober. It’s kinda boring back there so I just … here."
