Alice joined her laughter. “Well, I must admit, that I would have loved to have had someone there that was supportive. They all just gawked at me with such shocked and appalled expressions. I honestly didn’t care, though. My journey was indeed enlightening, and that was another thing I learned. To do what I believe to be right, now matter how much opposition you receive.” She had never thought herself of being an inspiration, or being able to provide words of wisdom. But seeing as this girl was in great need of advice, she was going to provide the best advice she could. Her fear of the slip-up was materialized as soon as Kaitlyn perked up at the mention her journey happening in an actual place. She let out an awkward, humorless chuckle. “Yes, I suppose that I did say that. I’m sure if I give you too many details, you will think I have gone ‘round the bend.” One hand instinctively rose to her chest, where the vial of Jabberwocky’s blood hung suspended from a chain, just underneath the fabric of her dress. It was possible to take her there, after all. If that’s what she desired, the potion would give it to her. And she had been wanting to go back to her beloved Wonderland and Hatter. She had even promised him that she would be right back. “It is possible for me to take you there, but I’ll warn you; it is unlike any place that you’ve ever dreamed of.”
“If only the world was not so judgmental than perhaps I could’ve fought back as well. But there were too many critics and pessimists that see nothing but worthlessness in me. And it exasperates me a lot.” she then sighed, remembering her situation. “But a wise girl you are, Miss Alice.” she added, a smile adorning her face.
At hearing Alice’s odd chuckle, Kaitlyn tilted her head in confusion. Did I say something wrong? Offensive? She pushed her thoughts was she paid attention to whatever the blonde was saying; she’d just have to learn the answers to her questions.
“Um, to be honest, I refrain from thinking that people have lost it just by the things they say. I’m not one to judge. Seriously, who knows if it’s true or not. Only the one who said it knows so I just let it be …” she trailed, no longer being able to follow the girl again nor being able to follow her own words. “You can tell me, I won’t judge. I know how it feels like, to be called mad anyway.” she admitted, reaching for Alice’s hand and giving it a small squeeze.
The brunette eyed Alice’s hand as it touched something beneath her clothes. Stop staring! Though upon hearing Alice’s next words, the girl quickly switched her gaze to the blonde. “I- Wha- Um …” she stammered. Now she was really confused. “If you don’t mind, sure.” she blurted out. What am I saying? Mon Dieu, I’ll just have to wait …
When the girl reached out and affectionately squeezed Alice’s hand, she made up her mind. That Kaitlyn had a kind heart....
