Of Gardens and Tea

as-madasahatter:

“Only once that I remember. It was a short trip, very short. I haven’t been outside Wonderland much, or rather, not in a very long time. Though that could be because of Time himself. He’s not a very nice fellow, to me he isn’t, but time is something we all find ourselves lacking in nowadays, don’t you think? That’s why I prefer tea parties and tea in general as there is always time for some tea,” he replied in a rather winded voice for someone who showed no signs of being tired at all. The subject matter, Time, is what caused the shortness of breath in Hatter as he was always quite aloof when dealing with the master of minutes and hours. Ever since that one day, he had taken a clear disliking to Time, but refrained from any more on the matter than what he already said.

“Now, what is it about London that made you decide to move or continue living there?”

{ ♔ } - - - - -     Kaitlyn listened to his short narration and found it quite interesting and though she wanted to press on the matter, it occurred to her that she’d asked enough. It also seemed that Hatter won’t have any more say on the topic. So she let it go.

“I agree. Yet I choose to ignore Time. I desist looking at any timepiece; I ignore the time so I can live freely.” remarked the lady quite wistfully. “Tea parties? I imagine that you hold them often given that there’s always time for tea, as you said.”

“Ah, London.” she sighed. “I still live there, on my own with maids and guards. Even after I left my father’s estate, he remained overprotective. I work as a painter and photojournalist. Life up there ain’t really interestin’ but depends on how you live, anyway. I’ve tailed topic, haven’t I? Well, London … We have a Big Ben there.” she chuckled, shaking her head.
